2) Go over a well baby admission exam and paper work- including reviewing maternal soft chart for problems during pregnancy and social history.
3) Go over a well baby discharge exam and paper work including:
Early discharge criteria and need for 48 hour follow up
Go over discharge summary reviewing diagnosis and non-diagnosis as well as documenting procedures such as x-rays, echo cardiograms, IVF, medications and labs
4) Introduce residents to the Wiki Newborn site and point out the salient articles.
5) Also point out the test to be done half way through – as “food for thought”.
6) Have resident schedule PHN home visit and write it down on the calendar.
7) Have resident check calendar for lactation teaching sessions and reschedule if necessary. They should complete the lactation teaching on the Wiki site before the actual sessions.
8) Have residents commit to weekend rounding and holidays and post it on the calendar.
9) Finally have resident commit to 1 – 2 talks and post the days on the calendar.
